Project WeCan is a Business-in-community programme designed to offer care and opportunities for the less-privileged students in Hong Kong. Project WeCan was established by Wheelock-Wharf in 2011 as an open platform for business sponsors to work closely with schools through financial commitment and volunteering support for students who lack support and resources. The Programme began with 14 secondary schools and expanded to 53 schools with 45 supporting partners by 2017.
Wheelock has been supporting and working with Fung Kai No.1 Secondary School (“FK1SS”). In addition to the joint-school programmes under Project WeCan, a wide range of bespoke activities have been organised by staff volunteers for the students.

Summer internship was provided to students of FK1SS and Ng Yuk Secondary School, Project WeCan partner schools of Wheelock and Company and Wheelock Properties (Hong Kong), through Job Tasting Programme.
Rex Tso, aka ‘Wonder Kid’ and Hong Kong’s only professional boxer, was invited by Nike, our community partner, to share with FK1SS students his childhood, career and tough training experiences.
Wheelock’s volunteers were invited to join FK1SS’s Sports Day to have fun with the students.
